WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI issued the following statement commending President Biden’s National Security Memorandum on “Improving Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure Control Systems.”

“Increasingly severe and complex cyber attacks on the systems that control and operate critical infrastructure pose significant risks to U.S. national security, economic competitiveness, and public safety,” said John Miller, ITI Senior Vice President of Policy and General Counsel. “As ITI and our members have long maintained, policies that encourage and facilitate voluntary collaboration between the federal government and industry are essential to address cybersecurity threats. Today’s directive by the Biden Administration is an important step in this effort, and we look forward to partnering with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies to advance this memo’s goals, build a more resilient digital infrastructure, and address ongoing cyber challenges.”
